AUGUST 2014 – NEW PRODUCT ANNOUNCEMENT
FQS is pleased to announce a new product manufactured in conjunction with TSN Research.The SCL006-FGMX fluxgate magnetometer module is fully assembled sensor system to monitor the earth’s magnetic field and geomagnetic storms.All you have to do is install the included software (Windows XP minimum) and connect the 50 feet of cable between the system module and the sensor. Then connect the included USB cable between the system module and the computer where the software has been installed.Sometimes 50 feet of cable is not enough to isolate the FGM sensor from EM noise or other disturbing activity. Ordinary RJ45 couplers are usually very cheap and are prone to introduce noise into the signals.
NOTE: An active coupler is on the drawing board that uses quality materials and internal signal reconditioning. This will provide a way to extend the cable lengths securely and without signal loss. A coupler is recommended for every 100 feet of cable to prevent signal degradation. This will be applicable to the SCL006-FGMX series magnetometers and the future FGM-based security systems planned for release late 2014.
